Bangladesh is witnessing a steep rise in atrocities against Hindus and Minorities amid a political crisis in the Country. The recent arrests of the Hindu ISKCON priests have sparked a massive outrage across the world. Canadian Hindus staged a protest outside the Bangladeshi Consulate in Toronto to seek justice and protection of Hindus. Bangladesh Chief Advisor Md Yunus has been facing flack since the atrocities on Hindu minorities started. “ShameShame Bangladesh”, “Md Yunus, a murderer” “Hindu Lives Matter” slogans echoed in Canada. Protestors urged the Canadian and Indian Governments to press Bangladesh’s Govt to ensure Hindus' safety. Earlier, Montreal also witnessed a massive protest against Md Yunus over the recent attack on Hindus in Bangladesh. There also have been cases of arson, looting of minorities' homes and vandalism and desecration of deities and temples. The arrest of Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das in Chittagong on October 25 on sedition charges led to heavy protests. India had on November 26 noted with deep concern the arrest and denial of bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das. India had urged Bangladeshi authorities to ensure the safety and security of Hindus and all minorities.
