Marjo and An have an incredible offgrid homestead lifestyle in the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia. They've built their own home using locally sourced wood, they harvest fruit from the forest, they fish for their protein, they raise chickens for eggs and meat, and they also generate solar power, harvest rainwater, and use a well for their water and electricity. The island they live on does not have any villages or roads, so everything is transported with a small handmade boat, from their groceries to their fuel. It's not an easy lifestyle that they've chosen, but it is quite beautiful and rewarding (and they can surf from their front door!).
