Join me on a solo winter camping adventure in the midst of a heavy snowfall blizzard! Temperatures plummeted to 30°C, but I stayed warm and cozy in my hot tent.

In this video, I'll take you through my experience of winter camping alone in extreme cold weather conditions. From setting up my hot tent in the snow to cooking meals on my portable stove, I'll share my tips and tricks for staying warm and safe in the winter wilderness.

I'll be using my trusty Yaesu FT891 transceiver paired with the Chameleon LEFS 8010 antenna system. I'll show you how I set up my station, configure my radio, and make contacts in the frozen wilderness.

Winter camping presents unique challenges for amateur radio operators, from coping with cold temperatures to finding creative ways to set up antennas. I'll share some tips and tricks for operating in these conditions and demonstrate how to stay connected with the outside world even in the most remote areas.


The blizzard brought heavy snowfall and strong winds, but my hot tent held up perfectly. I'll show you how I secured my tent and kept it warm throughout the night.
