In this video, #OhioHistory took a tragic turn. After I checked Fred J. Cook's book: The Secret Rulers: Criminal Syndicates and How They Rule the U. S. Underworld (1966), I couldn't find an address for the Center Sandwich Shop. Because I grew up near this area, I heard rumors that the Naples family had connections to the #Mafia (Outfit) in #YoungstownOhio. They owned the Millikin building at one time. I heard rumors that this building had a secret tunnel in the basement that led to the garage across the street. I researched the Vindicator, and Sandy Naples was assassinated on March 11, 1960. I wrongly stated that the assassination happened in 1962.
"Cadillac Charlie" Cavallaro and his son Tommy were killed during a mob hit. His car exploded while he started it (Youngstown Tuneup) on November 23, 1962. My dad used to play cards with Cadillac Charlie at the Purple Cow Sandwich Shop, a restaurant near the downtown police station. My parents were in the Purple Cow one time when the founders of Warner Brothers Pictures (Sam, Albert, Jack, and Harry Warner) were there.
