WORST Story I've EVER Heard | Rescue Cat | Severely Matted Cat Groom
Rescue cat, Gizmo has certainly been through the wars during his life. He came to see us today as his owner was desperate to get his severely matted coat removed. Gizmo is about 17 years old and was rescued after being found in a really terrible state he was burnt all over and this resulted in months of surgery including skin grafts to repair his wounds and many more months to heal those wounds. What a terrible story and a terrible thing for any animal to go through.
Because of the trauma, Gizmo has extremely sensitive skin, he is arthritic in his front legs and he has also recently been diagnosed with thyroid and kidney problems.
His rescue Mum loves him to bits and that is why she brought him to us as she did not want Gizmo to have to go under sedation at the vets in order to remove his severely matted coat.
This gorgeous fella is an absolute trooper.
Understandably after the trauma he has been through, he was not the most willing pusscat to be groomed. But as soon as he did something naughty, he tried to cuddle up as though he was apologising for his behaviour.
My heart went out to this fur baby and the pains he has been through.
On a positive note, Gizmo went back into his basket to return home like a whole different cat.
Free from all the matts that were trapping him in his own body and with a bit of a spring in his step to have got rid of all the heavy coat from him.
Gizmo is a pusscat we will never forget!
It is so lovely to see he still has his spriit!
