Winter is slowly settling in so we've spent the last couple of weeks winding down the kids sports, getting all of our winter prep done and spending some chilly nights in the treehouse.
We finally had a free day to try and knock a bunch of this off the fall to do list, but then our 1 hour stove installation turned into an ALL DAY process because nothing seemed to be going right.
Little word to the wise. Read the instruction manual. This little pro tip would've saved us 1 trip to Menards, 1 trip to the local hardware store, and $18.99. Not the worst thing in the world, but we felt like we had wasted an entire day to do something that should've taken us an hour.
We finally got the stove installed and spent our first night in the treehouse all warm an cozy next to the fire in anticipation of the seasons first snowfall.
With the addition of the wood stove, we're going to need fire wood and a lot of it. We've had some dead and fallen trees that Ted has cut down this summer so we got right to work splitting the giant pile that's been sitting in the yard.
We were able to cross some more tasks off the todo list so I think we're officially ready for winter. We heard it's going to be a cold one.
