Unlike many selfhelp authors, the acclaimed behavioural expert Thomas Erikson has sold millions of books worldwide by giving advice on how to better understand the people around us — rather than just ourselves.

Best known for his internationally bestselling book 'Surrounded By Idiots', Erikson devised a simple yet revolutionary method of understanding human behaviour with his fourcolour system of categorising personalities as either red, blue, yellow and green. Each colour represents different traits: bossy, analytical, friendly and optimistic.

In October 2024 Erikson spoke to author and broadcaster Carl Miller to discuss his theory of human personality and his latest book 'Surrounded By Liars'. Erikson reminded us that companies and organisations are full of humans who think, communicate, function differently, and explain how we can improve our understanding of other people to advance our own careers.
