When picking tankmates for axolotls, just remember that though they are pretty peaceful, they will also try to eat anything that will fit into their mouth. Be mindful that whatever tankmate you choose needs to have the same or similar care requirements and also will not harm the axolotl. This limits our options to cooler water tolerant, peaceful species of fish, invertebrates, and even other axolotls.
