Victims of atrocities committed by Bashar AlAssad’s regime in Syria have been speaking out, after years of fear and repression.

BBC journalists have travelled to Ghouta, where chemical weapons were used on civilians in 2018, to speak to victims and eyewitnesses, who are now demanding justice.

We also report from the southern city of Daraa, the centre of antiAssad protests that started in 2011. Government forces mounted a brutal siege and killed many civilians. We hear from the mother of a 13yearold boy whose torture and murder by the regime's security forces helped fuel the uprising.

Reeta Chakrabarti presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Yogita Limaye in Ghouta and Lucy Williamson in Daraa.
