Las Vegas steakhouses are famous all around the world. While this channel is based in NYC, and the famous NYC steakhouses are all iconic, Vegas is also known for a robust steakhouse scene. Not only does Vegas have locations of many, if not most, of the iconic New York steakhouses, but there are also many steakhouses unique to Vegas itself that can hold a candle to any of the best steaks in New York!
We ate at Las Vegas' Golden Steer on the first stop of this Vegas series. The connection between the Golden Steer and Elvis and the Golden Steer and Frank Sinatra, among other A list celebrities of the time, are well known. However, the highest reviewed steakhouse in Vegas, at least according to Google and Yelp, is SW Steakhouse. SW Steakhouse and Golden Steer are both similarly reviewed, both very high accolades of higher than 4.0 on average with thousands of reviews, but SW Steakhouse is the best steakhouse in the Las Vegas strip, while Golden Steer is more outside of the strip.
Is SW Steakhouse worth the hype? It is very expensive even by Vegas standards. For context, Gallaghers in Vegas charges around $60 for a NY Strip, while at SW Steakhouse we paid more than $80. Is Vegas' Most Expensive Steakhouse really worth the price? Or is it all overhyped and just expensive because it's in the luxurious Wynn Hotel?
