US Air Force Carries out Airstrikes in Syria as Rebels Advance toward Damascus | Firstpost America
The United States Air Force conducted airstrikes in Eastern Syria on December 3. A10 Thunderbolt, commonly known as Warthogs, carried out ground attacks in Eastern Syria. The Pentagon says that the airstrikes were carried out in "selfdefence" after unknown groups fired at American troops in the country's east. At least 900 American soldiers are deployed in Eastern Syria and are crucial in fighting against terror outfits in the country. Meanwhile, Russia and the US collided at the United Nations where they both accused each other of the chaos in Syria. Syrian rebels continue to advance and are now laying siege to Hama. After Hama, the next major city is the capital Damascus where Syrian President Bashar AlAssad is fortifying defences.
