A tropical Storm is forming in the Caribbean, and that will bring lifethreatening flooding. Extreme rain amounts will move close to Puerto Rico, The Dominican Republic and Haiti. Over 300 mm of rain, or 12 inches, will be LIKELY IN SPOTS.
I can't stress enough: Where this rain goes, the flooding will be extreme with flash floods, impassable rivers, and mudslides. I am still finetuning where this ends up, but The Dominican Republic is the most likely location. A little shift to the east would bring intense flooding to Puerto Rico, and a shift to the west would bring it to Haiti. PLEASE STAY AWARE! I'll continue to finetune this forecast for you. I am highly concerned about the amount of rain this system has. Please make preparations for this flooding!
There will be gusty winds, and this could become a tropical storm Monday or Tuesday. Regardless, the rain is the MAJOR threat with this.
Down the road, this could get close to the Turks & Caicos, and even Bermuda.
GULF: The area in the Gulf of Mexico will bring rain to South Texas. Some development is possible before this rolls on shore.
HILARY: The worst weather moves in this afternoon and tonight for Southern California, Nevada, and Western Arizona. Western Mexico continues to deal with hurricane conditions. I am thinking of you all!
Please share this information with any of your friends and family in the Caribbean. Thank you for doing that! Brian
