In this episode we read from "The Captivity of Elizabeth Hanson" by Elizabeth Hanson and Samuel Bownas, first published in 1727. This story is about a Quaker woman who was held captive by Abenaki Indians during the first French and Indian war. She was captured near Dover, New Hampshire in 1725, and ransomed at Montreal, Quebec in 1726.
