When I saw the photo my friend sent me, my heart sank. A dirty little kitten was curled up next to a trash can, so I quickly ran down to check.

Upon closer inspection, I found that the little one had only three legs, and one of those seemed injured, making it difficult for it to walk steadily.

However, when we called it, the cat still stumbled towards us. When I tentatively put my hand on its head, the cat actually leaned its head against it. The little one crawled towards us with all its might, and seeing its pleading eyes, I really couldn't ignore it.
