"The Story of Rimba" is a film I did more than 10 years ago for the BOS Foundation. At the time I thought that this film would be quickly outdated because I was confident that the orangutan problem and deforestation would get under control. I was wrong unfortunately.
Orangutans are still being killed, rescue centers continue to be flooded with new orphan babies and injured and sick adults. What a shame for this country.
The film was not designed for an International Tv audience but to reach Indonesian people and make them understand the suffering of these great apes and the danger of loosing them for ever if we pursue our blindness destruction of nature.
During my "40 Years in Indonesia" travels across the country I show this film in villages and schools and there are a lot of emotions and feed back from the audience.
Hopefully it can help make a small difference ...
