According to a recent estimate, there are 10 000 religions in the world today, with many more that have long since vanished beneath the sands of time. So where did religion come from in the first place? God created Adam and Eve who walked with God in the Garden of Eden, but after eating the forbidden fruit, sin entered into the world and rapidly spread, first to Cain who jealously slew his brother Abel because his religious sacrifice was accepted and Cain's wasn't, and then to the rest of Adam's descendants. Embedded in cultures around the world are fragments of the same creation story, a story which is much older than the religions that would dominate those cultures in later years.
