After a 10 restoration effort the P38 Lightning "Scatterbrain Kid II flew for the first time on February 28,1992. This is a long video that includes ground tests, the first four flights. There is excellent arial footage and several extremely low passes can be seen during the fourth flight near the end of the video.

The Scatterbrain Kid II crashed at an air show in Breckinridge, Texas in 1994. The FAA came to the conclusion the crash was due to pilot error.

The P38 has been restored but the new owner and location are unknown.
