The British Shorthair is a popular cat, made famous as the Cheshire Cat in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It is a large cat. Adults are usually 18 to 20 lbs. It has a massive head, with a round face and chubby cheeks. The British Shorthair’s coat is dense, velvety, and plush. There are over thirty varieties of colors. They are quite healthy and have an average lifespan of 14 to 20 years. They are a sweet and loving breed.
