A cat named Butters has been reunited with his owners after being missing for 12 years. He went missing in San Diego in 2011 and was found 216 (!) miles away in Blythe more than a decade later! Animal control officer Dalton Churchwell found Butters, scanned him for a microchip and contacted his owners.
His owners, Angelo and Shelly Castellino, were shocked but happy to learn that their pet was alive. They immediately decided to take him home.
Of course, it would never make up for all the years they missed being together. But at least Butters will spend his golden years surrounded by love and care.
