Both M15 and the visiting female were perched in the nest tree when I arrived this morning. All is well at the nest after Hurricane IDALIA passed through our area earlier this week. The nest and nest tree looked the same as it did on my visit August 23rd. Both adults vocalized at times and watched the area as the super moon shined brightly above. The female flew up closer to M15 and they both vocalized, making their presence known to others. At sunrise M15 flew east and the female followed him. Whether M15 will choose this female or perhaps another or none at all is up to M15. We are simply observers in their world. As I packed up to leave, light rain began and a beautifully complete rainbow embraced the nest tree. I believe it was a symbol of Harriet's presence as her legacy and Ozzie's too, continue. M15 will carry their legacy on with the confidence and grace that he displays. Official bald eagle nesting season in FL is Oct 1May 15.
E21 was last seen April 29th & E22 was last seen June 10th. Harriet was last seen February 2nd. "I love you Mom" and miss you terribly.
