The man who allegedly shot and killed a man and injured two others in a Vancouver Mall last week appeared in court for the first time on Monday.

Officials release a probable cause affidavit that detailed the events leading up to the shooting and identified the accused shooter as 32 yearold Travis Ward.

Ward was arrested on Saturday for allegedly going to the Vancouver Mall in a "Joker" mask and following a man to the food court and shooting him in the back of the head at pointblank range, according to the probable cause document.

The document says Ward came into the mall with three other people. Two women and a child dressed as a princess for the trick or treating event that was going on at the time of the incident.
According to court documents, the women that were with the suspect were not aware that the shooting had occurred and officials said the surveillance footage also did not indicate that the women knew that shooting occurred. Other trickortreaters and parents ran and hid in adjacent store in the mall as they feared that they were in an activeshooter situation.
