In today's video we do a studio tour of DMI, talk to people who work there and had a rather lovely time doing so. We were able to have a chat with 3X GrammyNominated mixing & Mastering Engineer Luca Pretolesi! he has been in the business for a while now and has worked with the likes of Skrillex, Diplo, Bruno Mars, Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, MakJ and more. Born in Genova, Italy, Pretolesi now calls Las Vegas and Studio DMI home.

The newest part of Studio I is the speakers there are Focal Trio11 be's in the left and right corners and it's hard to describe the result of the actual room sound with the Trio11. The Trio11 be has the expensive tone of HiFi speakers that but with precise detail separation between midrange, uppermidrange and top. It is so pleasing, Luca works an average of 78 hours at 90 dB's and said "They are so good!"

As you know we have the same Focals and what is interesting is when we flatten out all our speakers so they all have the "same response" and these Focals always have the smoothest highend. there's something about them that allows you to work for long periods of time.

We're living in a world where there isn't a massive budget to mix one song the reality is you might be working on a lot of songs per day!
