This story happened in Malaysia. The cat was found by a student on her university campus with spray paint all over its fur. Shocked by the cruelty, the student posted a video on Twitter, hoping to shame the culprit. A video of a cat painted purple went viral on social media. Many Malaysians are known to be cat lovers, so most citizens were outraged to see an innocent stray cat being mistreated and strongly opposed to animal cruelty.
At the clinic, veterinarians concluded that it was impossible to wash off the paint without harming the cat, so the only solution was to shave the damaged fur. The paint had even penetrated the animal's skin, and the cat's tongue was also purple, probably from grooming.
The cat, nicknamed Keladi, has now made a full recovery. He was very lucky to be found by such a compassionate woman. The police are investigating this crime, and we hope the culprits get what they deserve.
