It is getting very hot at Higashiyama Zoo.
Nene, an elderly female gorilla, is very healthy and tolerant of the heat.
On this day, Nene chased after her granddaughter Annie, who was picking on her.
Shabani and his son Kiyomasa were resting indoors, but as soon as they heard Nene was shouting, they ran outside to follow them.
Nene's daughter Ai did not go outside but waited for them to come back inside.
Nene does not want to lose to young Annie.

Nene was born wild in Cameroon.
The other three were born in the Higashiyama Zoo in Japan.
