SWEET VISIT WITH JACKIE & SHADOW ❤ 10.4.24

A few days ago, I was able to capture another sweet visit with our Love Birds. They were found on Cam 2, perched together on the Lookout Snag tree when Shadow called a meeting to the nest tree and flew off. Jackie joined him a minute later while he was tidying up a bit.

I really enjoy watching their bond as they interact and as they watch each other. Body language and the calmness are a couple signs of the bond between Bald Eagle pairs. Of course there are moody days with extra beaky shenanigans vs other days and all of that is also very telling in their bond as well. These two definitely act like an old married couple and I absolutely love it! How are two raptors, apex predators of the sky, so relatable?! Well keep watching these two closely this season and you'll understand if you don't know already!❤

Shadow almost headed out early through the back porch but then turns his focus back on Jackie to help speed up her chores and starts interrupting her little project. She ends up giving him some beakies in return but knowing Shadow, that might've been his goal the whole time. He likes beaky kisses from his lady and his shenanigans, I'm sure, keeps her guessing what he's going to try next.

After flying off, they perched together in their favorite Roost tree for the night. Later, they had a surprise nest visit by the nightshift Nest Inspector. Fiona, the nocturnal flying squirrel. She's so darn cute! No fish nestovers yet, little one. Hopefully soon. ❤
