We are sailing to the island of Taha’a and continue our sailing trip with our friends.

The island of Taha’a is to the north of her big sister, Raiatea in the same lagoon. Where life goes by at a very Tahitian rhythm, it is a very tranquil island. This flower shaped island is surrounded by a string of small Motu.

Sailing inside the laggon feels like being on a lake. The only hazard is the coral heads and they are everywhere.

Having a catamaran helps a lot and our sailboat can be in 3 foot deep of water which make it easier to find really nice anchorages.

If you are in Taha’a you must go to the Coral Graden by the Le Taha’a Island Resort.

The Coral Garden is between two motus a small shallow passage allows easy entry into the water where you float in the current that sweeps you gently from the reef to the lagoon through a beautiful garden of multicolor coral and fish.
