The origin of Teacup dogs involves a cruel process, unethical breeder take advantage of the weakest or smallest puppy among the siblings, also known as "runt of the litter". They purposely breed this runt with another runt to produce a whole litter of smallsize dogs. These breeding techniques can be extremely detrimental to their health and emotion, depriving these puppies with the nourishment they need makes them weak and unhealthy, while inbreeding can cause genetic defects that may result to another serious health problems, like low blood pressure, heart disease and respiratory defects. Normalsize dog breed can live up to 15 years but their Teacup version can have a shorter lifespan due to their sickly nature.
Their energetic nature adds to their cuteness, but the amount of food Teacups should consume shall be enough for their tiny stomach, but they tend to have a fast metabolic rates, therefore, they burn up all their energy quickly, they don’t store up as much energy as larger dogs can, thus, they need up to 5 meals in a single day to maintain this energy.
Because they are tiny, they are susceptible to injuries, that can be a result of falling objects, hitting into a hard wall, attack from bigger dogs, and playful acts of children, though occurred at a lesser degree but because of their size the impact can become severe.
Teacup is an unofficial name, as it's not recognize by the office of dog registry or any dog rescue associations as a specific breed of dog, due to its cruel origin. They are extremely popular as pets with high price tag, and knowing that many people love tiny dogs, many unethical breeder are inclined to engage to inhumane practice just to fetch top dollar.
Many loves small dog for several reason, they don't take up much space, they don't eat as much as large dogs, they remain cute even reach adulthood. But it's a sad reality that Teacups often come with health problems that are life threatening, so the purchase price will become nothing compared to the cost an owner may spend on veterinary bills and medicines.
