Royal Albatross ~ LGK Comes Back For TF But A Yellow Banded Female Chick Comes Over Begging! 9.25.24

The rangers are seen walking down the hill to take the weight and supp feed the chicks that need it!

LGK came back for the first time since TF fledged! He looks around Top Flat and heads to his natal nest area to sit and wait for his chick. He does not know that TF has fledged.

All of a sudden, LGK does a greeting and stands up and we have one of the chicks coming for a visit and hoping to get a feeding from a parent. The chick has a yellow band so she is female. I could not see the numbers on the band but she was a chick from below the hill. LGK is very nice to her as she made her presence known! Just a few clacks in the beginning but otherwise a calm visit. After a few minutes, the chick leaves to the right and LGK gets up and he also walks off to the right and then down the hill maybe LGK continues to search for TF down slope.

LGK did an excellent job as Dad to TF this season! Both LGK and LGL should be very proud of raising such a strong and feisty albie chick! Farewell LGK stay safe and thank you for a great season! Thank you for watching!
