The Mahayuti has swept back to power in Maharashtra with an unprecedented mandate. The BJPShiv SenaNCP combined tally touched 230 in the 288 member Maharashtra Assembly.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi suffered a stunning election defeat with its tally falling short of 50 seats.

While the MVA is calling the result "unexpected", the Maharashtra verdict, coming one and a half months after BJP's Haryana victory, has confirmed that the saffron party is back to its winning habit.

It's a complete reversal of what was seen during the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP led Mahayuti has gained ground across all the six regions of Maharashtra. In Konkan, North Maharashtra and Western Maharashtra, the Mahayuti secured a vote share of over 50 percent.

The biggest gains were made in the rural and semirural constituencies. The welfare schemes Ladki Bahin Yojana, Ladka Bhau Yojana and steps taken to ease the agricultural distress have paid rich dividends for the Mahayuti.
