Veteran BJP leader and union minister Nitin Gadkari sat down with Jist for a breakfast interview at his house in Nagpur. Mindful of Maharashtra's heated election campaign, Gadkari spoke with caution and weighed his words on #TheHotSpot with Rahul Shrivastava.
He revealed his desire to bring in new people into politics and cited the example of his protege Devendra Fadnavis.
While he appreciated the work done by CM Eknath Shinde, Gadkari refused to be drawn into questions related to Fadnavis's old charge against Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.
He said his mind is where his work is which is the Union Transport & Highways Ministry and ruled out a role for himself in Maharashtra's state politics.
Gadkari stayed clear of controversial issues like 'vote jihad', but recommended Saoji Chicken to a foodie visiting Nagpur.
