After Gabby laid egg#2 yesterday, she incubated both eggs all night. Beau arrives very early in the morning bringing a large moss blankie! He is so thoughtful to bring this softness and insulation for the nest & eggs! Gabby was ready to take a break and Beau got to see the 2nd egg for the first time! He spent a few minutes aerating around the eggs and rolling them before finally settling down to incubate! Beau is doing such a good job with the eggs!
About 2.5 hours, Gabby returns with a stick and Beau gets out of her way. He heads up sunset branch as Gabby took over incubation duties. But Beau had more things to do he flew off and returned with the 2nd moss blankie for the nest & eggs! Gabby spread the moss all around but did not get up so Beau flew off & returned with a small stick, then a 3rd moss blankie and finally a huge multifaceted stick. Beau placed the stick to the right of the nest ensuring that no eaglets were going to escape from that side!! Beau then flew off until his next incubation session around noon. Beau & Gabby are off to a wonderful start with their two precious eggs now to care for! Pip watch begins January 11th for egg #1 and January 15 for egg #2 ♥ Thank you for watching!
