Moving a 210 Gallon Tank and Where to Put Big Fish

Hello everyone, it's Pierre and welcome back to the channel!

In this video I talk about my plans to move fish out of my 210 gallon tank and where I will put them.

As you might imagine, a fish room is always changing... most recently I decided to move my 210 gallon tank to another spot in the fish room (my garage). This is because it's in the middle of the room and kind of in the way, plus it's facing in a weird direction.

The issue is that it contains the biggest fish I keep, including bichirs which are between 12 to 16 inches in length and a datnoid that is a really tall and beefy 18 inches. The biggest tanks I have after this one are only 75 gallons and so they would be quite cramped if I put them in those.

Thankfully I had a 150 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank on hand and so with my sons' help moved it into the garage. The tank should hold the big fish comfortably so I don't have to rush the breakdown and move process.

I plan to use a Rubbermaid BRUTE trash can to filter it, and I'll show how I plan to set it up in a future video. A 1000 GPH pump will bring water up and into the trash can, through the filter media and then back out into the stock tank. The trash can is a great choice in this case as I can essentially use nearly the entire volume for filter media. I will need to drill a hole through the trash can for the drain/return pipe to go through. I'll probably put the heater in it as well.

That's it for now! Thanks for watching and happy fishkeeping. See you in the next video!
