The last several days have been very difficult for the DNR eagle family with Dad missing since Tuesday April 26th and Mom defending the nest and her eaglets from intruders. There has been a lack of food and E1's aggression rose to new heights today resulting in three brutal attacks upon E2 and ultimately pushing E2 off the nest at 20:21.
The folks at Minnesota Nongame responded immediately and found E2 on the ground and brought to the Raptor Center for evaluation. Be sure to see the two photos of E2 at the end of the video when they rescued it. Sadly, the internal injuries to E2 were so great they had to humanely euthanize the baby. This is such heartbreaking news that we have lost E2 and possibly Dad as well. My condolences go out to all the viewers who love this eagle family and nest and are grieving over this terrible loss today. Minnesota Nongame DNR has issued a statement and I will pin it to the comment section of the video. RIP sweet E2 your suffering is over. Your bravery and strength to survive was an inspiration to all of us who loved you. Fly high on angel wings baby ~ we will never forget you. Thank you for watching!
