When Ralphie came to us, we didn't know he'd been shot.
He arrived as a stray, plucked from the streets of Santa Fe, NM. This sweet, black and white peppered pup was only using 3 of his legs, the fourth leg hung limp at his side. Although he was injured, he leaned into pets from shelter staff and he seemed grateful to be in our care, finally safe, with a warm place to eat and rest.
Xrays confirmed the worst at some point, little Ralphie had been shot. Bullet fragments had broken his bone and little pieces of shrapnel glowed white in the images taken of his back leg. In order for Ralphie to heal, he'd have to go through a challenging, lifesaving surgery.
Make sure to watch Ralphie's heartwarming journey all the way to a miraculous recovery. And if you're able, you can help support his medical costs by donating today at SFHumaneSociety.org/Donate
All donations made until the end of Giving Tuesday (Nov. 28th) will be matched dollar for dollar, thanks to our PAWtners at Pacifico. We cannot do this kind of lifesaving work without people like you who believe that pets like Ralphie deserve better!
