Fastrising comedians Dennis Padilla and Janno Gibbs took on the spotlight in this film, which was their first screen teamup. The wacky duo played smalltime conmen who, for a quick buck, would do anything or become anything. While at times successful, there were also dangers to their kind of operation, such as when, while pretending to be doctors, they were kidnapped by members of a rebel group to operate on their ailing leader. How they got out of that one was part of the fun of "Mandurugas."
