Join veteran Safari Guide Jean Du Plessis as he takes audiences on an exhilarating journey through the Serengeti. Hear the plains echo with the thunder of two million wildebeests on the move. Meet them at one of the most dangerous parts of their annual circular migration, a risky crossing of the crocodilefilled Mara River at the region’s north end. The journey of these wildeneest is fraught with dangers. About 250 thousand of them will die within a year due to natural causes like thirst, hunger or exhaustion. And many more will die at the hands of predators, such as lions or crocodiles that wait along the route.
As they approach the river crossing, they proceed with caution. They sense the lurking dangers. But their instinct to move is stronger than their fear. Soon it becomes a mad rush of over two million wildebeest and zebra. It will take several weeks at many different crossing points before they have passed. Hungry and patient, the Mara’s crocodiles hope to get in one last feed.
