Pierre wrote this song on the boat during his first trip from his native France to Ireland. That is a journey that I made several times when I was a child for family holidays and school tours. This song always reminds me of that, as I hear the sea both calm and in storm along with the creaking of the ship.

Pierre plays many different versions of this piece. The first time I play it through I am playing it the way that he teaches it on his Trufire course. The second time I am stealing parts from this live video (   • Pierre Bensusan | Le Voyage pour l'Ir...  ) of him performing it, which is where I first heard the song.
