The JLab Talk Go USB Microphone is an affordable USB microphone that directly competes with the Blue Snowball ICE. For less than $50, you get a USB Microphone that features two condensers and a resolution of 96KHz/24 Bit.

The Talk Go connects up to your computer via a Type C to Type A USB connection. The setup is so simple that it doesn't require you to install any drivers. Using buttons directly on the microphone, you can easily swap between a cardioid and omnidirectional pattern, mute and unmute, and adjust the volume level of your headphones for audio monitoring. The LED ring around the bottom of the microphone shows you what mode you are in and if you are muted.

The cardioid pattern is meant for streaming, while the omnidirectional pattern is good for podcasting with a group. Personally, I found the audio quality from the omnidirectional mode to be better than the cardioid pattern. Either output was fine after being processed, but if you are using raw audio I would stick to the omnidirectional mode. Make sure to watch the full video to see our JLab Talk Go Audio Test that includes Processed and Unprocessed Audio.

For a mic under $50, I was really surprised to have live audio monitoring! This is something that sets the microphone apart from the Blue Snowball and Blue Snowball ICE. On paper, the tech specs of this mic are also better than the Blue Snowball and Blue Snowball ICE. That said, I would still highly recommend you listening to audio tests from both before purchasing.

For the cost, I think the JLabs Talk Go Microphone is a decent buy (Especially if you can get it on SALE). While the build quality is nothing to call home about, the features and recording quality were better than expected. If you end up purchasing this mic, do yourself a favor and buy a different stand.
