**Please note there are some graphic images of Jaxson's wound in the video.
Jaxson is a local boy who spends his days cruising the trees of Goonellabah. Jaxson has visited Friends of the Koala a number of times once to be treated for chlamydial cystitis and more recently with a bad bite from a dog attack. Our volunteer photographer and some great footage of Jaxson's rescue, rehabilitation and release.
Jaxson spent four months recovering from the dog attack where he was treated in our Koala Hospital by our IFAWsupported vets and received lots of TLC and fresh leaf from our amazing volunteer koala carers.
Jaxson went from not being able to use his hand to climbing trees again and he was released home. Koala releases are cause for much celebration at Friends of the Koala. Go Jaxson!!
Would you like to volunteer with us? We are always on the lookout for more people to help us save koalas.
Our Koala Hospital services are free to the community, but it costs an average of $5,000 to rehabilitate and release a koala. You can help us provide quality treatment and care to koalas by becoming a Friend of the Northern Rivers Koala Hospital.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps us achieve our mission of protecting these beloved animals.
