Izzi was loving living on the edge, but ended up tumbling out of the nest box! Although he was almost ready to fledge, a little more time was needed. The next day, Izzi was spotted wandering on the roadside, so he was rescued by FalconCam Project staff and placed back in the nest box to have more time to mature. Quite the adventure for a young falcon! The unhatched egg was also retrieved for research purposes. Diamond and Xavier can be seen flying outside, monitoring the situation and giving alert calls.
The cameras are run by the FalconCam Project, showing a Peregrine Falcon nest box on the Charles Sturt University (CSU) campus in Orange, NSW Australia. There are three cams in the nest box, which can be viewed on Scott Banks’ and Cilla Kinross' YouTube channels: / scotteebks and / @cillakinross3875 .
