George Gwozdecky enters his 8th season as the head coach of the boys hockey program at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and has experienced a lot of success there, including winning backtoback Colorado State High School hockey titles in 201920 and in 202021.

Prior to his arrival at Valor, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning. During his second season, the Lightning advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals before losing to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Before Tampa, Gwozdecky spent 19 seasons as the head coach at the University of Denver, leading the Pioneers to two NCAA National Championships and earning him National Coach of the Year honors in 1993 and 2005.
