Now, Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping have held their first bilateral meeting in 5 years. Just days before, the two sides reached a border patrol agreement, which included terms for the withdrawal of troops from both sides. Does this detente mean another shift in the balance of power for the United States, which sees India as a counterbalance to China in the region?
