Some people say concrete that is only ¾” thick will break, but I’m here to prove otherwise. I use glass fiber reinforced (GFRC) concrete to make this curved concrete lounge chair inspired by the classic Le Corbusier LC4 lounge chair. The process involves spraying a face coat of concrete without glass fibers, then using two layers of hand packed concrete back coats with alkali resistant glass fibers, along with an AR glass scrim or mesh in between those layers. The result is a super strong concrete.

This lounge chair design is also special to me, since it is inspired by the piece of furniture that first sparked my love for design the LC4 lounge chair by Le Corbusier. I took the shape and dimensions of the LC4, and put my own twist on it. Speaking of twists, I also did some woodworking to build a rotating wood base for the concrete lounger.
