How to Winterize RV Water System for Class A Motorhomes:

First, open your low point drain valves. On this unit they are located in the water bay. Turn them both so they are "open" to empty the water from these drains.

Next, drain your water housing. This is also located in the water bay. Remove the filter if there is one in it.

Next you will empty your hot water heater tank. Always make sure that you trip the pressure temperature to relieve pressure. Then you will remove your drain plug. Stand to the side as water will start coming out!

Once the hot water tank is drained you will bypass your hot water tank. The location varies based on make/model, but on this model they can be found right behind the tank. You're now bypassing the flow of antifreeze from your hot water tank.

Inside your RV, open all of your faucets one by one to let air in the top. You will hear the air rushing in as the water is draining out the bottom of the low point drains. When you hear the air stop, close the faucet and move on to the next one. Do this for both the cold and hot.

Now you will introduce antifreeze into your system. You will need 23 gallons of antifreeze. You can stick the pickup line directly into each gallon, or put it all in a single bucket and put the pickup line in the bucket. This unit has a "winterizing inlet" that you can introduce the pickup line that leads to your antifreeze. In this instance, there's a valve on the water pump that you will open to allow the pump to suck in antifreeze. If your unit doesn't have a "winterizing inlet", take the line off of the water pump and attach the pickup line that feeds to your antifreeze. Turn your water pump switch on. You can open a faucet that will allow air out of the system. You will see your water filter fill with antifreeze, as well as antifreeze coming out of your faucet.

Head back inside and start opening all of your faucets (both hot and cold), run the toilets until you see the pink antifreeze. Once you see a continuous flow of pink, turn your faucets off/stop running the toilets.

For your washing machine, turn on the machine and start a cycle. You should hear the antifreeze/pump start to run into your washing machine. Wait until you see antifreeze fill into your drum. Once you see antifreeze, pause your cycle. Change the setting knob to "spin and drain" and then restart the cycle. This will allow the drain pump to fill with antifreeze. Once you hear the drain stop running, pause the cycle again, then turn off your washing machine.

Head back outside and turn your water pump off and disconnect your pickup line to your antifreeze. You now have antifreeze in your system and it is winterized!
