Acoustically treating your music studio is extremely important, especially if you are doing any vocal recording or mixing/mastering. By treating a room first, you can then upgrade to better studio monitors, better mics, and better equipment. If a room is not treated, what you are hearing is not correct because of the room reverb and how sound bounces off the different walls and ceiling.
