Among all the iconic steakhouses of New York City, such as Keens Steakhouse, Peter Luger, Gallaghers, and Old Homestead just to name a few, I would argue that a less historical steakhouse in NYC takes the cake over all of them. Last week I got to try Empire Steak House in Midtown, Manhattan, and it was not only one of the best steaks in NYC, it was one of the best steaks I have ever had! And with how great of a steak city New York is, it is for sure one of the best steakhouses in America!
Empire Steak House is another member of the Peter Luger Steak House tree. Just like Benjamin's Steakhouse, and Wolfgang's Steakhouse, Empire Steak House and Peter Luger also have a connection, as it was opened by former employees of the Brooklyn iconic steakhouse. However, it is a bit different from Wolfgang's which is more or less a clone of Peter Luger. Empire Steak House has a different feel than Peter Luger. It has more of a sophisticated and upscale vibe, while retaining the classic Peter Luger sizzling butter steak preparation method!
