About 400 students from Harriet Tubman Middle School boarded buses last week for a trip to view the movie ‘Harriet’ at the Tigard Cinemas. The screening gave students the opportunity to learn more about their school’s namesake, a leading abolitionist who helped free more than 300 slaves, and was followed by worksession discussions back at school. The trip and screening were made possible by Oh Planning+Design, Architecture’s generous grant to The Fund for PPS, the district’s newly established foundation.
