On this day in 1947, the Groucho Marx game show YOU BET YOUR LIFE debuted on ABC Radio! It became one of the most popular game shows on TV and radio in its 14 year run with Groucho as host. While this highlight is from 1960, the year it debuted was 1947 when Harry Truman became the first president to address the nation on television, MEET THE PRESS premiered on NBC and still airs today, making it the longestrunning program on TV.
