Here's another news report from June 19, 1980, featuring "NewsCenter 31" (WMBDTV) reporter Dave Baldridge. This highlights Grace Presbyterian Church's television ministry which started in October 1974.
One historic inaccuracy to correct: The reporter stated the church "first opened 29 years ago at 800 NE Madison," which would have been 1951. The church actually started as a Sunday School outreach in 1862 and incorporated as a church in 1868, first meeting as a Sunday School in a passenger coach down by the river, and then as a church in a small frame building at the corner of Clay and Green streets (which is where Taft Homes is today). The church moved to the corner of Madison and Wayne in 1874, and stayed there until 1957 when it moved to Knoxville and Forrest Hill. In 2010, the church moved to Route 91, where it remains today.
