Rail and Sail is a partnership between Scotrail and CalMac which makes it super easy (and affordable) to get from the heart of Glasgow to the solitude and beauty of the Scottish Islands join me today on a trip 'soon the watter' following in the footsteps of holidaymakers from yesteryear as I head to the biggest of the Firth of Clyde islands. And what a place it is!

Please note this isn't a review of the Isle of Arran (I was only there for a couple of hours) but it certainly gives a glimpse of its beauty and shows how easy it is to escape the city and find yourself in a different world!
